Hi! I’m Shaina.
I am a yoga instructor currently based in Detroit, MI. My life is shared with my awesome fiancé, Zack, and our adorable fur-baby, Zoey. We are an active little family and are constantly on the move with too many hobbies and lots of energy.
I grew up in an active family and was always in some sort of sport, starting right from elementary school. I was in track (sprinting & pole-vaulting), soccer, basketball, volleyball, and cross country. I’ve always loved being active and even did a lot of running and biking on the side. I still continue to go to the gym whenever I can and do home workouts on top of my yoga practice every day.
A little over 3 years ago, I found yoga and it completely changed my life. Handstands were the first thing to get me hooked. I started watching videos and reading books every day and spent time learning as much as I could. I was still in college at the time and would constantly practice handstands every day in my spare time. I also started learning more about poses and flows and dedicated tons of time teaching myself how to flow at home.
I now enjoy combining my home workouts and yoga practice together to create a practice that is both strength and mind building. I love that I now have the opportunity to help others learn how to build mindful strength and grow in their practice.
Other things I love include writing, reading, binge-watching The Office, hiking, snowboarding, biking with Zoey, traveling, and just enjoying the outdoors.
I could probably talk to anyone about anything and sometimes lack a filter :D. But I am always 100% me.
